Mozart Requiem on 13 April 2019   hide

Stoke Poges Singers are in search of string players for our concert on Saturday 13 April taking place at St John's Church in Farnham Common, SL2 3NJ. We are performing Mozart's Requiem, plus some very interesting pieces in the first half which all involve just the strings. These are "The Fruit of Silence" by Peteris Vasks (for choir and strings), "Cantus in Memoriam Benjamin Britten" and "Fratres" (for strings and percussion) both by Arvo Pärt, and "Company" by Philip Glass. All proceeds from the concert will go to the charity South Bucks Hospice.

We have professional players along as leaders of each section and are then looking to bolster them with good amateur string players. As our funds are limited we will be unable to offer a fee, but could look to cover reasonable expenses, if agreed in advance.

There is a morning rehearsal on the day (10:30-13:00) and an afternoon one (14:00-17:00). Concert is 19:30-21:30. Contact us at info@stoke-poges-singers.org.uk us if you are interested.
